Where your stuff waits when the keys aren't ready yet
Moves almost never line up perfectly. The lease ends on the 31st and the new place opens on the 5th. The closing gets pushed a week. The internship in Houston starts before the sublease does. That gap is where storage comes in, and it's where most of the stress of a move actually lives.
Aggie Movers Company handles the whole middle part for you. We load your furniture and boxes, move them into storage, and bring them back out when you're ready for them. You're not renting a truck twice, you're not carrying a mattress down a stairwell in July, and you're not asking three friends for a favor they'll remember forever.
Owner Wailan Watson runs the crews, and the same approach applies to a storage job as to a straight move: wrap it properly, load it tight, write down what went where. Things that are stacked carelessly get scratched, bent and lost. Things that are inventoried and padded come out the way they went in.
Dorm boxes in May, apartment loads in August, office files year-round
College Station runs on a calendar, and so does storage. Here's what we most often put into it:
- Student summer storage — dorm and apartment contents held over the break so you fly home with a suitcase instead of a U-Haul. Mini fridges, bed risers, textbooks, the whole kit.
- Lease-gap storage — your one or two bedroom apartment goes into storage for a few days or a few weeks while the next place gets ready. One load out, one load in, nothing stacked in a hallway.
- Home sale and closing delays — furniture off-site so the house photographs clean and shows empty, then delivered to the new address once the paperwork clears.
- Office and file storage — desks, chairs, cabinets and archive boxes held while a suite gets painted, re-carpeted or built out, so your team isn't working around a pile of furniture.
- Long-distance staging — if the move is out to Houston, Dallas, Austin or San Antonio and the new place isn't available yet, your load waits here rather than riding around in a truck.
- Downsizing overflow — the furniture that doesn't fit the smaller place but isn't ready to be sold or given away yet. Keep it somewhere dry while you decide.
Every one of those is priced and planned a little differently, because a dorm room's worth of boxes and a four-bedroom house are not the same job. Tell us what you've got and roughly how long the gap is, and we'll put real numbers to it.
How we pack, label and load a storage run
Storage is only as good as the loading. A few things we do as standard:
- We walk the place first — in person or over the phone — so we know the piece count, the stairs, the elevator and anything awkward like a treadmill or a piano.
- Furniture gets blanket-wrapped and shrink-wrapped. Mattresses go in bags. Glass tops and mirrors get boxed or padded, never laid loose on a stack.
- Boxes get labeled by room so the unload makes sense months later instead of becoming a guessing game.
- We keep an inventory of what went in. When it comes out, you have something to check it against.
- Loading is done to protect the bottom items, not just to fill the space — weight low, fragile high, nothing resting on an upholstered arm.
Half the damage people blame on storage actually happened in the five minutes it took to load the truck. Slow down there and everything else takes care of itself.
When you're ready for delivery, we reverse it. The crew brings it back, places furniture where you want it, and takes the wrap and debris with us rather than leaving a mountain of plastic in your living room.
Storage questions we get asked every leasing season
We serve College Station, Bryan and a wide stretch of the Brazos Valley and Central Texas, plus long-distance work to the major metros. If you're not sure your town is on the list, see all 24 service areas, or just ask when you call.
The best thing you can do is reach out early. May and August are the busiest weeks of the year around here, and the people who sort their storage in March get the easiest ride. Tell us the dates you know and the dates you don't, and we'll build a plan that survives a change or two.
