Country roads, long driveways, and the moves Iola actually needs
Iola is a small place with a lot of elbow room, and that changes how a move has to be run. Houses sit back off FM roads behind cattle guards and gravel drives. Barns and shops hold just as much as the house does. Nobody is parking a truck twenty feet from a front door and wheeling boxes across a sidewalk. Aggie Movers Company works out of the Brazos Valley, so this is familiar ground rather than a trip into the unknown.
That means we plan the access before the truck rolls. If the drive is soft after rain, we shuttle with a smaller vehicle instead of burying a loaded trailer in your yard. If there's a gate, a tight turn, or a low limb over the lane, we want to hear about it when you call and not discover it on moving morning. Owner Wailan Watson would rather spend ten minutes on the phone asking questions than lose two hours improvising in your driveway.
Half of a good move out here is knowing where the truck can and can't go before you show up.
Student moves, piano hauls, and last-minute loads across the Brazos Valley
Iola sits close enough to College Station that a lot of our work is the back-and-forth between the country and the campus — kids heading to A&M in August, graduates bringing it all home in May, families splitting a load between two addresses. Here's what we're most often asked to handle:
- Household moving — the whole house, packed, padded, loaded and set back down where you want it. Furniture gets blankets and shrink wrap, doorframes get protection, and beds go back together before we leave.
- Student moving — dorms, apartments and shared houses between Iola and College Station. Small loads are welcome, stairs don't scare us, and we work fast because a student move is usually on a deadline.
- Piano moving — uprights, spinets and grands handled with the right straps, boards and body count. Pianos are heavy and unforgiving, and they are not a job for a borrowed pickup and good intentions.
- Office relocation — desks, chairs, files and workstations broken down, labeled by room, and rebuilt in the new space so your people can sit down and work the next morning.
- Commercial and shop moves — tools, inventory, shelving, safes and equipment out of barns, warehouses and storefronts, loaded in an order that makes unloading quick at the other end.
- Loading and unloading only — you rented the truck or container, we supply the muscle and the stacking skill so the load rides tight and nothing shifts on the highway.
- Packing help — boxes, paper and wrap for the kitchen, the glassware and the things you'd rather not pack yourself.
- Single-item and short hauls — a sleeper sofa, a gun safe, a washer and dryer, a tractor seat you bought two counties over.
From an Iola farmhouse to Houston, Dallas, Austin or San Antonio
Plenty of Iola moves don't stay in Grimes County. We run long-distance loads to the big Texas metros and the smaller towns in between, with the same crew loading and unloading so there's no handoff to a stranger halfway through.
Our service area covers College Station, Millican, Bryan, Snook, Iola, Anderson, Somerville, Navasota, Roans Prairie, Washington, Lyons, Mumford, Caldwell, North Zulch, Bedias, Wheelock, Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Hearne, Brenham, Madisonville and Rockdale.
If you're moving into Iola rather than out of it, that works the same way — tell us the origin address and the access at both ends, and we'll quote the whole trip rather than guessing at the back half.
